About the Teleseminar:

We live with the collective hope and belief that  "time heals all wounds".  This collective illusion strikes at the dignity of the human soul, asking us to look the other way when we are face to face with the reality of our traumatic experiences.

Our delusions and immature attitudes about life ill prepare us for this journey, especially one encountering terrible trauma and loss. The prudent sailor prepares well for their journey into the depths, yet knows that the day may come when the storm, unlike any other, may hit. So we pray, for grace, for strength, for the gift of learning how to make a life amidst these experiences.

With our current global climate of terrorist atrocities, this may be a meaningful and opportune moment to arrive at a new understanding of healing, one that encompasses  the ability to live with the tragedies of life, and to build a psyche strong enough to carry what we have seen, felt and  lived through. And so too, to live a creative life. While each person's journey through the world of trauma is uniquely their own, there are archetypal and consistently patterned responses to these tragedies which can either keep us imprisoned in the trauma or which can help us move forward to a meaningful life. Identifying and understanding these archetypal patterns can help us move towards a generative re-emergence into the world. To do so is truly an experience of a secular miracle.
