DREAM PATTERNING
Encounters with Psyche as Threshold Experiences

Thursday, February 10th    8pmEST – 9:30pmEST

All consciousness separates; but in dreams we put on the likeness of that more universal, truer, more eternal man dwelling in the darkness of primordial night. There he is still the whole, and the whole is in him, indistinguishable from nature and bare of all egohood. It is from these all-uniting depths that the dream arises... - C.G. Jung

Dreams as Threshold Experiences

Dreams appear to us as though visitors from another world, informing us about life, love, relationship to spirit, and destiny.  Its messages are clear, and unfiltered, containing wisdom far beyond that of the conscious mind.    Like the voice of God, and the sage council of elders, we need to listen and learn the ways of Self.  This learning speaks to a way of life and a way of apprehending spirit that has been lost in modern culture.  It asks us to listen to the hushed whispers of this voice of the transcendent.

Every spiritual tradition teaches us to prepare for an encounter with the transcendent, so too do our dreams.  To enter this other world, a threshold is crossed.  Our task is to translate the symbolic, archetypal material emerging from our dreams into practical wisdom applicable to everyday life, our spiritual journey, and perhaps even our destiny.  As Jung writes throughout the Redbook, and the Collected Works, this other way is the spiritual path, and the way of the Self, requires a very different approach to life.

It was C.G. Jung, mystic, artist, physician, and sage, whose encounter with this Self brought this ancient understanding of the transcendent into modern psychology.   Dream Patterning seeks to extend this vision.

Evolving out of Jung’ studies on dreams, the new sciences of emergence, and Dr. Yoram Kaufmann’s pioneering work on the objective nature of images, Dr. Michael Conforti’s more than thirty years of working with psyche, matter and archetypal fields, has evolved into a truly unique approach to dreams called Dream Patterning.

Michael Conforti, Ph.D. is a Jungian Analyst, and founder and Director of the Assisi Institute.  He is a pioneer in the field of matter-psyche studies, and his many publications, including; Field, Form and Fate; Patterns in Mind, Psyche and Nature, and Threshold Experiences: The Archetype of Beginnings, speak to the emergence of psyche in matter.  Magi Press translates both into Italian.  He is very much in demand as a lecturer and teacher both here and abroad, including Italy (Assisi, Rome, Catania, and Messina, Sicily), Denmark, Switzerland, and Barbados.  He offers ongoing training in Sarasota, Florida, Brattleboro, Vermont, Portland, Oregon, and Washington, DC.  In addition to his clinical work and teaching, he consults to organizations and works as a script consultant for writers and studios.
