This 4 day, 3 night retreat will provide a context in which you will do some serious academic writing, reflect on your writing practices, and establish systems of accountability in regional working groups that will aid in your movement toward completing the writing project.

This primarily self-directed retreat is designed to focus on your writing and NOT on professional development. It is intended to give you space and support to reinvigorate your writing process and to reconnect you with a community of writers during a time when one can feel alienated and isolated.

Registration Costs:
$625 for a single room

Retreat alumni receive a $75 "welcome back" discount!

Registration covers room and board, retreat supplies, and texts for 4 days and 3 nights (1/2 Thurs., Fri., Sat., 1/2 Sunday including lunch).

There are two ways to reserve your space.

  1. Make a 50% non-refundable deposit (remaining balance due May 5, 2012).*

  2. Pay in full by May 5, 2012.*

  • This writing retreat is coming up fast. Anyone who is currently struggling with writing a thesis, dissertation, book, or novel should seriously consider attending. While I haven't attended yet personally, I know several people who have and they speak very highly of it. Good luck to everyone in your ongoing writing work!

  • Here's another testimonial from one of last year's participants:

"I wish there had been something offered like this when I started my dissertation clock.  It would have enabled me to layout my time, craft my dissertation outline, and equip me with accountability structures of support. I would encourage anyone who is struggling with a writing project to attend this workshop, especially a thesis or dissertation. Though you feel alone, this workshop reminds one that there are others and together you can accomplish your goals when sharing."

  • Here's a testimonial from one of last year's participants... more will follow:

"The retreat helped me rest and focus. It allowed me to learn concrete steps to finish my work and helped me hone in on the process of writing, remembering who my audience truly is and to reflect on the contribution of my work in my specific field."
