 Writing in Depth: An Writing Retreat at Hope Springs Institute

We invite you to the first ever Writing in Depth: An Academic Writing Retreat

The retreat will allow you to focus on academic writing, reflect on your writing practices, and establish systems of accountability in regional working groups.  This 4-day, 3-night retreat takes place in a setting that is especially supportive of people working in Depth Psychological, Comparative Studies, and other interdisciplinary settings.

Not only will your writing benefit from the focused attention you will be able to give it during this retreat, but you will also benefit personally from the retreat site itself. The retreat will take place at Hope Springs Institute in Peebles, OH. The space at HSI and the structure of the retreat honor the various aspects of self, manifest and shadowed, that one brings into one's writing process.

This primarily self-directed retreat is designed to focus on your writing and NOT on professional development. We assume that there are resources at your home institutions that meet these needs. This writing retreat is intended to give you the space and support to reinvigorate your writing process and to reconnect you with a community of writers during a time when it is very easy to become alienated (especially for those of you writing in ‘non-residential’ graduate programs).

Registration Costs:
$400 for people willing to share a room with one other person
$625 for a single room

Registration covers room and board for 4 days and 3 nights (1/2 Thurs., Fri., Sat., 1/2 Sunday including lunch). Space is limited to 24 retreatants and enrollment will fill on a 'first come, first served' basis. Please note: The facilitators will NOT receive compensation for their services at this retreat.

There are two ways to reserve your space.

1) Make a 50% non-refundable deposit by December 21, 2010 (remaining balance due April 25, 2011).

2) Pay in full by December 21, 2010.

There are two ways to make your payment.

1) Send a check made out to "Hope Springs Institute" to us (send us an email listed below and we'll give you our address).

2) Send us the following credit card information: Name as it appears on Credit Card, Credit Card Number, Credit Card Type, Expiration Date, 3 digit number on the back of the card.
