Bonnie Bright defended her Dissertation at Pacifica Graduate Institute today Dec. 12, 2014. The title is "Culture Collapse Disorder: Ecopsychopathy, Exile, and the End of Home."
As someone who worked as an entomologist for 20 years, I am especially intrigued by her topic and will love to read her Dissertation about the similarities between Colony Collapse Disorder that is devastating honey bees in many areas and our own cultural collapse. You can read her abstract here.
Congratulations, Bonnie! Your accomplishment is inspiring!

Thank you so much for your post, Jacqueline. What an amazing journey this has been! In many ways, I feel like I know less than ever even after so many years for grad school—but when I look at the areas my studies have taken me, I know it's exactly what is right for me at this critical juncture on our planet. I will offer a webinar sometime early next year once things start to settle a bit, and hope to find a book in that dissertation somewhere :).
Meanwhile, I don't know if you know Dennis Merritt, who served on my committee. Dennis is delightful, and is both an entomologist and a Jungian analyst (as well as the author of the 4-book series on Jungian ecology, A Dairy Farmer's Guide to the Universe). It is a unique combination of qualifications;; sounds like you have a similarly unique set of gifts and perspective, a truly inspiring accomplishment as well! Best of luck to you in your work.
Humble Congratulations to you Bonnie! Your achievements provide many of us a source of satisfaction - especially those of us who missed out on their opportunity in life to realize a PhD from Pacifica. Namaste, Alan
