Autism was almost completely unknown previous to the 1930 when television made its appearance. TV shows can start a psychic spinning process that can take over the minds of a certain type of individual. Incidences of autism increased in correlation to the increasing sophistication of programmes aimed at children. Autism and TV does not occur in the Amish community or is extremely rare.
