Read some of the comments on the addiction and AA/ Jung Book. I have an intimate knowledge and understanding in this area. This being said I know very little. Some of the designer drugs that are being used today are really scary ( I know nothing about them per say). When I see young people come into the rooms the main thing they need is love. Twelve step, Jungain or Buddist retoric is meaningless. They need Eros. Some don't look to pretty. Beat up as hell. I was a mess. Some 28 years later I can't tell you much. Except no drink, drug or cigarettes. One of main influences was Bob Earll a writer. He was about keeping it simple. Watch your diet, exercise, no caffeine ( that was hard) and get to therapy and work on my narcissism ( the bedrock of a mental health issues). I'll use just about anything to not have to face my smallness, resentment, deep loneliness, shame and unknown. I don't know. One of the many benifits of a life without substances is my daughter. She's somewhat of a worry wort like her Dad but also she possesses an inner freedom and vitality that is unsurpassed. Bill was cool cat. I dig him. But Bob was my kind of depressive. I think Bill was very tough on Lois. Also his relationship with Fr. Edward Dowling is of particular interest to me. Far more than Jung. The program has come along way in 28 years. It's evolving. The women are particularly insightful. Some real guts and heart. Enyoy ( to borrow a term from my freind south of the border) your Jungian and Twelve step. All the best Jeff
