  • James, what a great play list to dive in to, thanks!  I am now remembering Dr. John and more from teen years,"Walk on gilded splinters" and other swampland voodoo blues tunes.

Your gospel song was wonderful to hear yesterday, seemed to move us all in ways that we needed. Plus, now it is raining!

Since Hafiz was also mentioned, music as balm to the body mind and soul, and in Honor of Jesse Masterson, I am pasting in the first response to Jesse's exercise that I had send out from my depth book group.  Synchronicity at play?:

Jessie’s Path to answers for Yohan about Reason and Passion in our lives.

    1.   'In what ways do I drink from the well of passion that provides the sails for my soul?’

I will play you a tune that came to me last night when I was bowed in prayer, for I noticed this morning when I hummed it some angels with hangovers gathered near and they felt better.

From A Year with Hafez by Daniel Landinsky, (July 14th page).

    2. 'As I walk the path of reason, in what ways does it provide the rudder to my soul?'

The totality of ourselves is a very mysterious affair.  We need only a very small portion of it to fulfill the most complex tasks in life.  Yet when we die, we die with the totality of ourselves.

From The Wheel of Life by Carlos Castaneda, Tales of Power-page 145

    3.  ‘How might reason and passion, acting as rudder and sails for my soul, come together in my quest to discover prosperity, in the way I most need prosperity in this moment, in order to live a life that is fulfilling?'

There is no way to get rid of self-pity for good: it has a definite place and character in our lives, a definite façade which is recognizable.  Thus every time the occasion arises, the façade of self-pity becomes active.  It has a history.  But if one changes the façade, one shifts its place of prominence.

From The Wheel of Life by Carlos Castaneda, Tales of Power-page 150

Some balance, dear, some delicate discernment is required between what appears to be and what really is not.

From A Year with Hafez by Daniel Landinsky, (June 15th page).

  • Thank you, James!  Synchronistically, BB King's birthday today and when I went to go find something of his found this youtube set, which also has a song by an very young Dolly Parton and also a blue grass group!  Enjoy!
