This post seems to flow from the end of the second webinar. Saw a tv program this past weekend called “Every word has power: poetry of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel,” where his poetry is set to music by Basya Schechter. Rabbi Heschel was a leading Jewish American rabbi, scholar and philosopher, with mastery of the Kabbalah and Jewish mysticism, and was very active in the U.S. Civil Rights Movement. He spoke of “radical amazement:”
“Our goal should be to live life in radical amazement. ....get up in the morning and look at the world in a way that takes nothing for granted. Everything is phenomenal; everything is incredible; never treat life casually. To be spiritual is to be amazed.”
