Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
I am a relationship advocate,committed to helping change the way our culture values women. At this time I am currently working on my dissertation which explores the experience and effects of the mind-body split in Western culture related to female sexual objectification (FSO). It takes a depth-psychological, somatic approach to investigating the traumatogenic effects of FSO, its internalization by women, and self-objectification as a psychological survival strategy. It engages FSO as both a personal and cultural complex in order to examine, through the lived experiences of women, the dynamics in FSO that contribute to splitting mind–body, masculine and feminine, and heterosexual males and females. I feel being a part of this organization will assist in helping bring more clarity to critical issues such as this.
