Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
I am the Founder & Director of The South Florida Meditation & Mindfulness Society. We provide holistic mental, emotional, & spiritual care to our clients. I am a Philosophical Counselor, Spiritual Director, Sound Therapist, & Life Coach. I believe a daily prayer, meditation, & mindfulness practice are critical for personal life transformation. Depth Psychology embodies and encapsulates this sacred journey in sophisticated and cosmic ways. Rev. Dr. Daniel Medina, OSB, author of Urban Guru and The Scandalous Menu: Supper for Prophets & Disciples, was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Miami, Florida. He holds graduate degrees from the University of Oklahoma and St Thomas University (Florida Center for Theological Studies) Miami Gardens, FL, and completed the MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) program from Brown University. Daniel teaches at South Dade Senior High School and Professor at the Johnnie Coleman Theological Seminary in Miami Gardens, FL. He has served as an ordained clergyman for over 15 years. He is a Benedictine Religious, Spiritual Director, Philosophical Counselor, a Lay Zen Practitioner, a Sound Therapist, and Certified Vipassanā Meditation Teacher and a Certified Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher. Daniel serves as Pastor of the United Church of the Good Shepherd, a local, free church union parish in Cutler Bay, FL.
