Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?

I am a 44 year-old artist and single mother born to a Palestinian family who emigrated to Canada when I was 12. My life experiences so far have clearly steered me off the traditional path and I've repeatedly found myself in the role of councilor, with shamanistic qualities, that also incorporated my artistic talents. My keen interest in healing not only my own trauma as well as my ancestral trauma led me to study Jung and his work, alongside other fields of study. I also live with an auto-immune disorder (Multiple Sclerosis) and I took the decision to heal this by learning from it rather than putting a 'band-aid' over it by taking the currently prescribed pharmaceutical drugs. I suddenly developed this condition immediately following the end of a 20-year-long marriage, and believe strongly that this event triggered the illness. I've traced MS-like mystery-illnesses in my extended family, going back 2 generations, which was more evidence that I was dealing with ancestrally inherited issues that manifest themselves via physical illnesses. So part of what motivates to learn more about Depth Psychology is its openness to the intersections of a wide spectrum of fields of knowledge.
