"When we sleep the soul is lit up... by many eyes, and with them, we can see everything that we cannot see in the daytime.” —Aeschylus
Join Dr. Michael Conforti as we study the wisdom in dreams!
It was the brilliance of Jung, M.L. von Franz, and the first generation of Jungians to realize that the goal of life was to establish a relationship to the numinous. However, it is painfully clear that life presents us with challenges, which often result in our true natures and destinies being temporarily eclipsed. As Jung understood, the beckoning of the transcendent towards a greater life and a relationship to the Self, is always present. The ways to Self, to soul and destiny, are often presented to us in our dreams and in the images and symbols contained within them.
In this seminar, we will take an in-depth look at the imagistic ways the dream provides us with insights for living a meaningful life and how to make room for the transcendent and soul. This language of the night asks us to enter its world, to learn its ways and its language. It was Jung who taught us that: "The dream....presents a psychic fact."
We now realize that to understand this eternal language one needs to learn something essential about the workings of psyche and her language. As the dream often speaks to a psychic and archetypal potentiality, our task is to learn about the process of psychic representation, whereby profound life issues are represented in these eternal images. It is our task to learn about psyche and the eternal motifs appearing in our dreams if we hope to develop a relationship to spirit and soul.
Dream Patterning allows us to see the creative movement inherent within the psyche. Here, we see the dream as the carrier of a creativity beckoning us onward to a new way of life, guiding us towards the transition Psyche intends for us, and illuminating a way to cross from one archetypal domain to another.
In this weekend seminar, we will look at the symbols which beckon, and reveal through the presentation of eternal motifs, the meaning and nature of these transitions. We will look at dreams involving family, relationships, and career in the changing landscapes of our lives as we work to see destiny realized and the wisdom of the psyche brought to fruition
Each of the five sessions during this weekend, will focus on a particular teaching of Jung and M.L. von Franz on the nature of dreams and psyche, in addition to working with at least one dream per session.* In addition to working on a dream in each of these sessions, each of these five (5) training sessions will take its orientation from the following quotes from Jung and von Franz.
*As there is a sanctity about dreams requiring the security of a temenos within which to be addressed, we will not be working with dreams from members of this seminar.
