Dreamwork and the 12 Steps
Bringing the Power of Dreams to 12 Step Recovery Work
Part of The Dream Caravan, 2015
Sunday, November 8th, 4 - 5 p.m.
Arts Estuary 1024 Building, New Orleans, LA
Find out how dreams can support 12 step recovery work in this engaging 1 hour introductory workshop led by Laura Smith, a Dreamwork Practitioner who works with dreams to help individuals find a personal connection to higher power and discover the deeper truths of what life in recovery can be.
Dreams offer deep and meaningful information that can support and enhance 12 step recovery work including:
▪ What are the underlying causes and conditions of my alcoholism/addiction?
▪ What is the felt experience of connection with Higher Power? How to practice "turning it over" and engaging dream moments for meditation and prayer.
▪ What are my character defects really and how can the dreams help me understand and integrate them?
▪ How do issues of trauma/family of origin affect how I see myself and others?
▪ How can dreams support my ability to take personal inventory and know what is mine to own and amend for?
▪ What are the Promises for ME? Find out how dreams will reveal our hidden potentials and possibilities for what it means to live the Promises in our lives, unique to each of us as individuals.
Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to share a dream and explore the issues presented in dreams relating to physical and emotional sobriety, as well as explore how the archetypal energies that manifest in dreams can be sources of connection to Higher Power.
This 1 hour workshop is offered as part of The Dream Caravan 2015, a dreaming convention in New Orleans, Louisiana November 7th & 8th at the New Orleans Healing Center, 2372 St. Claude Avenue. Workshop times are between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Cost: sliding scale $35 - 50 includes all workshops/lectures on Sunday and a free one-on-one dream consultation! Get tickets here: Dream Caravan Tickets!
