Backpacking in Yosemite: No Experience Necessary
More than five million people visit Yosemite National Park each year. Many come to see, and perhaps climb, the most famous hunk of granite in North America—Half Dome.
But the experience of hiking to the summit of Half Dome can be more than checking another item off the bucket list. Hiking Half Dome can be a transformative and life-changing experience as we move up beyond our ego’s understanding of itself to shed unfinished emotional business and old self-concepts, and to encounter aspects of ourselves that live on the other side of fear and perceived limitations.
Wilderness Therapy: Outer Travel with Inner Purpose
The use of nature in the human healing process is an ancient practice. Adventure therapy is a distinct form of psychotherapy practiced since the 1960s. Considered a form of adventure therapy, the modern practice of wilderness therapy takes place in a natural setting for the purpose of exposing participants to challenges which expand their mental, physical, and emotional capabilities.
Trip is scheduled for October 23-26, 2015
In addition to the orientation and the trip itself, there will be 2 pre-trip meetings for preparation and 1 post-trip meeting for follow-up.
Learn more about the benefits of wilderness therapy, and how hiking Half Dome can support your personal growth, at a free orientation in Sacramento.
