In this four-hour workshop David Laveman will focus on the archetypal dimensions of Leadership and Organizational Transformation.
The archetype of The Hero’s Journey as a culturally encoded and empirically validated map of the transformation process is used to provide a holistic view of transformation. Emphasis is placed on the critical interdependence and often under-attended interaction of individual and organization inner and outer realities.
The Hero’s Journey will be distinguished from Heroic Management to demonstrate how similarly sounding language, if not carefully communicated, can lead to radically different approaches and dangerous misunderstanding. Participants will have an opportunity to apply this process to their own lives, as well as to gain an understanding about how this occurs—or fails to occur—in an organizational context.
Examples will be provided from Mr. Laveman’s extensive consulting and entrepreneurial experience and his pioneer work in the disciplines of executive coaching, change management and organizational transformation.
The workshop is designed to use both cognitive and experiential approaches. Participants will leave the workshop with
- Greater clarity about archetypal realities and their application to real life organizational situations;
- Specific ways to use archetypal maps to enhance effective diagnosis and leadership of the transformational journey;
- New and thought provoking perspectives and practical actions that participants can use in their personal and professional lives.
