This 9-month certificate program is for adult professionals who want to deepen their understanding of and engagement with the creative on both a personal & professional level.
Our faculty features a stellar line-up of best-selling authors, award winning film producers, & internationally recognized depth psychological and creative leaders who engage with students within the framework of a transformative learning model which encourages relational & reflective experiences combined with rigorous & transdisciplinary scholarship.
Learning Objectives
On completion, students will:
•Have crafted a personal artists statement that incorporates an archetypal understanding of the creative
•Have developed a personal creative portfolio
•Have a deepened understanding of the psychological manifestations of the creative and how they have historically been misunderstood & misinterpreted
•Have developed an insight into the creative utilizing the scholarship of field theory, innovation & emergence
•Have developed a personal definition of the creative which encompasses the scientific & artistic as complementary energies rather than antithetical approaches
•Have explored the clinical roles of creativity in working with trauma & catalyzing a transformative field
•Have an introduction to dreams as one of the languages of the creative unconscious
•Have explored the sociological implications of a heightened understanding of creativity & its applications for: educational reform, organizational development, corporate transformation & social activism.
This certificate program will be delivered via:
*18 Ninety minute webinars (Jan 15 to Aug 16, 2015)
held every other Thursday evening from 8-9:30 PM (ET). (Every webinar recorded and available to students)
*Two 60 minute private mentoring sessions
available to each student with one designated faculty member.
*One weekend residency: August 13th - 16th, 2015
in Mystic, CT surrounded by the breathtaking ocean vistas on Enders Island. This residency incorporates sessions with internationally recognized authors, film producers, choreographers & depth psychological scholars plus interactive workshops with creative leaders & the opportunity for students to share their own creative portfolios.
*Two Creative Projects:
Creative Journal: Designed to give you the opportunity to engage with the creative process, this Creative Journal can be seen as your own personal Red Book experience.
Creative Portfolio: While the Creative Journal is a private experience and not intended to be seen by anyone other than you, the Creative Portfolio is designed to showcase a part of your creative engagement to the world. Each student will have the opportunity to show their Creative Portfolio during the weekend residency, Aug 13–16, 2015.
