Building on the work of C.G. Jung,. M. L. Von Franz, Yoram Kaufmann, and Barbara Hannah, who all spent their lives studying not only the language of the dream but the presence and workings of archetypal, universal patterns. The persistence of an inner nudging, that gnawing feeling compelling us to action, the message hidden in a dream that we find ourselves preoccupied with upon waking; these each speak to us about the beckoning of what Jung speaks of as the "numinous" and of a world far greater than anything we can grasp with our prevailing conscious attitudes. The language of the dream is a symbolic one - where images tell the stories of transcendence, the need to change, and those influences which hold us back from the realization of our destiny. An image has the power to change a life. Images, like ancient remedies work to draw us into the world of the sacred, and to do so we are asked to understand the specific language of the image. As we allow the image to convey its unique message and not what we superimpose upon it, its dynamics and wisdom are revealed. C.G. Jung spoke of the timeless quality of dreams. While addressing the needs of our inner and outer life, the wisdom of these dreams surpasses personal experience, and it is this eternal, archetypal domain that is central to the work of Dream Patterning. During this residential seminar, Dr. Conforti will work with participants in the dynamic field of dream work, and through lecture, case study and group discussion, participants will learn how to better recognize and understand the inherent, objective wisdom contained in the language of dreams.
