Many of us study alchemical psychology, but after nearly thirty years of research I can tell you that the Royal Art is much broader than the Jungian perspective. What's most challenging for me is discovering that alchemy is still alive albeit in different forms. We find traces of it in genetic engineering, astrophysics and energy sciences. Unfortunately, the sciences have been denuded of the soul and sadly we suffer great consequences.
For the past five years I have participated in the International Alchemy Conference. This has been a wonderful experience, one that I will continue this year as a keynote speaker and workshop presenter. The conference consists of all kinds of alchemists, many of whom are practicing the Art in various locations throughout the world. Its like a ten ring circus with a bunch of like minded and fascinating people. I always come away learning new things and fun memories. The conference is a great source of inspiration - a real eye-opener.
I will be speaking on Osiris, first as a God of the Dead and now as an archetype of Regeneration, one whose face we see in the Green Man and the green revolution. My workshop will demonstrate what I believe is one of the earliest forms of alchemical experiment - mummification and the rituals involved in "becoming Osiris." This is a collective form of active imagination! Conference Info
