The secret agent or undercover spy motif appears in many films from comic (Austin Powers) to serious (Eye of the Needle; The Exception; Inglorious Basterds;anything by John Le Carre). The theme I am interested in is how the spy has to fit in and appear a part of the scene being spied upon, yet the spy's loyalties are to another group.
Any thoughts on how the Spy is an archetype, especially as it appears in dreams or elicits cringe worthy feelings in the analysand?
