This link is for an interview with Iain McGilchrist, a psychiatrist and writer who works in London. His book, The Master and His Emissary, a title taken from a story in Neitzsche, refers to the right and left hemispheres of our brains respectively and outlines the dangers of a culture dominated by the all the rationality and related traits of the left brain--something Jung concerned himself with immensely. Good read! http://talks.themorningnews.org/2010/11/iain-mcgilchrist.php

After reading the article, I would add both morality and meaning to the function of the right brain or as a product of the two hemispheres together still led by the right hemisphere. It also adds one more log to my fire about the value of the arts in culture. Current Christian mass movements, as far as I am concerned, fall under that enslavement "by a terrible simple, mechanistic view.." and add to the inflated self-righteousness often displayed there. (I personally lean to the mystic side of life.)
