Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
Narrative psychology combined with social systems on the "outside" and Jungian understanding of the interior "systems" make a nice pairing. Currently working on soul-related theoretical research establishing that soul is a misnomer. A proper understanding begins with seeing that souling as process is a better beginning to understanding the workings within the Psyche.
Do you belong to any other online Psychology-related communities or orgs? If so, which?
Many, but most are Jungian based.

I see I am not the only one slow to respond to a comment, ie, your heart-felt welcome to the online Depth community. A very belated thank you! I don't get online very often. I see you like Brene Brown I discovered her about a year ago at the Global Leadership Summit Simulcast. What she writes about and shares about vulnerability being a strength is something I wish I had learned decades ago. It sure takes a lot of stress out of life and is improving my relationships. I am not familiar with the Ulanovs, but I do love watching God at work in my clients, having a front row seat, especially when He totally re-images a traumatic memory, and they see Jesus, and often someone else, overcome and release them-- simply amazing! What a privilege.
Ed - you had commented back in 2012 about enjoying some of the music on my website, even to the extent of it being a creative stimulus perhaps to some of your writings. I wanted to bring your attention to my Higgs Boson concert late in 2012, which wasn't posted until 2013. Here's a link to the video of The Higgs Boson, Part One. http://vimeo.com/56294695 From there you can also find Part Two, which is my preferred part of the concert, but I don't really know which half is better.
Hi Ed, Thanks for your comment and welcome back in 2012, for some reason I just received it. At this point I imagine you have completed your myth degree. Yes?
Hello Ed!
Thank you for your warm welcome! It's nice to be involved in this community! To answer your question about Antioch's orientation: I just took a class called Counseling Theories and Approaches. We learned about several theories including Freudian, Jungian, Adlerian and Rogerian. We also covered concepts of Behaviorism, Cognitive-Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectal Behavior Therapy.
I don't feel as though we had a specific orientation that was pushed; we were introduced to several prevalent approaches. Our final paper was to select an orientation we felt best suited us, and research the theory more fully.
I have met several people who have attended Antioch 20+ years ago who have specialized in a Psychoanalytic approach as that was THE orientation being taught at the time. It's nice to have options, but my paper was on Depth Psychology ;)
Thank you for the warm welcome, Ed, and for taking the time to visit my website. I'm enjoying my exploration of all the Depth Psychology Alliance offers. What an amazing resource!
How do you like Pacifica? I am looking into their PhD in Depth with an emphasis in Community, Eco, and Liberation Psych!
Hello! Actually, I only recently discovered Jung's work. I spent two years in a Clinical Psychology PhD program and not a word was mentioned about depth work. I left as I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the program and now, at Antioch, we are reviewing much of Jung's work in various courses. I was thrilled to find an area that matches the way I conceptualize...life! It was really very inspiring and I am happy to have found this on-line community.
Thanks for the welcome Ed. I look forward to engaging in discussion with folks.
Just getting my profile picture set up is my next move and then I will in fact introduce myself further. Looking forward to ride. I have also been deep into the study of the 'Red Book' with the guidance of Sam Kimbles, Phd. past president of SF Jung Institute, and I never tire of the journey. Best, Lizbeth
