"Oh, yes, Paul Lefler, Fresno, interviewed Louie on 580 KMJ last year before he died and it was replayed this past fall. You can probably listen to it in their achives."

"I hope I can catch at least some of this presentation. Saw the movie, and the sequel (http://billygraham.org/video/louis-zamperini-captured-by-grace/) and just finished reading the book. Gripping."

  • Hi Diane. I'd like to add my (somewhat belated) welcome to Ed's. I'm so glad you've joined us.

As you may know, we currently have nearly 1700 members from all over the world and we're growing. I hope as you explore the community a bit you find a dynamic group of like-minded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. While there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from many walks of life including artists, writers, doctors, scientists, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.

On that note, there are many opportunities to engage as you browse the site. When you're ready to jump in, please feel free to post a topic for discussion in the forum, respond to someone else's post, or share a link to an article or web site you like.

Also you may want to consider participating in the online book club if you haven't already: In November we're featuring "Madness at the Gates of the City: The Myth Of American Innocence,” a mythological and cultural look at our current belief systems with Barry Spector. Since the Book Club is all done via writing in an open forum, you can participate at your own level and schedule--and you can join the discussion even if you don't have the book.

In case you need detailed help getting started and navigating the site, you can use the following link---- http://www.depthpsychologyalliance.com/page/navigating-the-site----and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions at all! I look forward to seeing you around the community. ~Bonnie Bright, Founder

  • Welcome Diane,

Glad you joined the Alliance. I see you are also a member of Christian counselors. My wife and I just presented a workshop on Deep Christianity, using much of Barry and Ann Ulanov's work. I've also got the MFT background so I guess we are cousins. :)

Again, welcome and I hope you will find much to your interests.

    Ed

Post-Abortion Trauma: Connecting the Dots

The following article is on a subject in which most clinicians have no concrete training: recognizing abortion-induced PTSD. I wrote it in layman's terms for the general population with the intention of helping them be more sensitive to this prevalent but under-recognized issue, and letting them know this form of PTSD can be treated.

I hope you will find it helpful in your life and practice. You have my permission to make copies…
