Activism and Movement

Just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge what I am seeing this morning as a synchronicity between our shared concerns and interest as a board in activity and movement on the website and in this community alongside our interest in activism and a movement. I think Bonnie even acknowledged at one point yesterday that she still wasn't sure what it meant that our discussion had moved from activism to a movement?! I take this all as a fairly propitious sign from psyche that we are on the right course and I think it is worth acknowledging and continuing to track. Even the commentary about daily practice (or more regular practice--again activity and movement) and somatics, the body, of this organization, all pointing towards greater engagement and doing...compensating for what can be our more dominant thinking function as a psychology and community.

Well anyway, if you can't yet tell, these resonances began churning for me in the evening last night and so are still rather energized and so I thought I better share before they cool down and see if anyone else is curious about this or seeing, hearing, feeling it, in our collective field and efforts as a board?

  • Thanks Mark. I too am excited about the notion of a movement. Long before I heard of the lovely myth of Indra's net, I had a waking vision of the Earth as seen from space at night. All over the darkened globe lights winked on, first one in Europe, then two in San Francisco, six in Ecuador, etc. All the lights were connected, and I knew instinctively at the time that I was being shown the gradual awakening of a global community of healers (i.e., people committed to the courageous act of individuation). At 62, I have very modest aims for myself. But the vision still inspires me to be an example for others.

I'd value any thoughts you have about the other string on activism and movement, too.

  • Mark, I concur.

I so admire Bonnie for her willingness to say "I don't know" - we are taking this soul journey together, walking into new territory, rich, wild, creative. As the saying goes, we are "walking our talk" (on all levels). I am honoring all the images which are surfacing, excited about the movement, the rhythyms, emerging.
