Hi all: Here's the link to the recording of our first board meeting. I know it was a bit chaotic to try and get everyone on Skype. Thanks as well to everyone for being so willing and jumping in with two feet. I'm so happy about our initial connection--even though the technology was a bit trying--and look forward to knowing you all more. My apologies to those who missed some of it because of the internet challenges. We'll stick to regular phone teleconference or else GoToMeeting next time. Thanks for patience.

Meanwhile, as you know, we spent most of the time on introductions (and technology!)--but at the end we spent a few minutes acknowledging some of the pros and cons of opening the group the entire community to the general public and eliminating the NEED to join--though people still could join if they choose.

I asked everyone if they would spend some time thinking about the pros and cons in the next few days and we'll start some discussion online here in the Group to start down that path toward a decision.

I also think most of us agree the Alliance Home page needs to be simplified and condensed. If you have ideas on what needs to stay and what could be consolidated together under a specific tab or header, maybe we can start there.

Finally, I asked everyone to start thinking about what the mission statement might include. I think that will come from some of the comments made by Brent, Ed, and Shane about this seeming surge of interest in depth psychology and humanistic and some of the more formerly fringe psychologies and my own ongoing urge to make it more known and mainstream (Depth Psychology as a household term!....)

Anyway, again, the link to listen is here. It's quite a large file so it may take a few minutes to download--but once you have it you can fast forward to the parts you missed or want to hear again.

Feedback on any of this welcomed...or if you want to start a new topic of discussion on any of these above--or something else entirely, I recommend you start a NEW discussion with the topic clearly stated in the Discussion title so we can keep it somewhate organized...
