Group Member Introductions

Much of the opening circle, Tuesday March 8, was spent introducing ourselves to one another. Future audio video meets will emphasize discussion/sharing on topic. Whether or not you have introduced yourself to the group via audio/video, please reply here with introduction and what you hope to contribute and gain from participating in this conversation.

with love, thank you

Megan

  • I enjoy writing and dancing. As creative director at ex·tinc·tion wit·ness, a collaborative art project with a primary focus on personal and global peacemaking, I produce electronic posts and short films in collaboration with other artists. My work is informed by formal study of the physical, life, and social sciences (MS 2007 Environmental Studies, BS 1997 Applied Health Science/Environmental Health) integrated with my experience in a twenty-year and continuing process of personal healing and existential inquiry. I've contributed at Kosmos Journal OnlineElephant Journal and Dark Matter: Women Witnessing. I practice Ashtanga Yoga and live in Bozeman, Montana with my son. meganhollingsworth.com and extinctionwitness.org

  • Thanks Megan.  Take your time, just wanted to check to see if I was missing anything!

  • Megan is there a recording of the first session to which we may have access?

    • Hi Cheryl,

There is a recording, which requires configuring and editing that I've not had time to attend yet. I am also not with permissions to publish the portion of the recording that includes member introductions and will work toward that end. Most likely, the recording will be made available at vimeo and password or email protected, so that only participating members of the group have access. I'm dancing the thin line of respecting and maintaining personal privacy while facilitating intimacy among group members. Both are aspirations I hold with highest regard.

Thanks for touching in about the recording. This is on my mind too.

      with love, megan

  • Hi , my name is Cheryl Duttweiler and I am a retired licensed therapist and College Instructor and Counselor.  Not sure what this group does but I highly relate to Jungian Psychology and to Animals...have a very special relationship with them.  I am only available during day hours of Eastern Standard Time. 6 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

I am very open to discovering that which is in our personal and collective unconscious.

Hi Cheryl, Thank you. I'm making note of your availability, which serves well to include participants from the UK. This is a dialogue group, so where the conversation goes largely depends on who is present. I have several creative prompts to offer from the 2014 - 2015 ex·tinc·tion wit·ness collection (see http://www.extinctionwitness.org/witness/ ). Hoping that others will bring prompts (in the form of personal experience, story, poetry, visual art) for the group to consider. I come to this as someone who has done quite a bit of exploring on my own and experienced the transformative process therein. I'm looking forward to learning and sharing with others. This is very much a 'what have you learned?' and 'what more is there?' and 'what can we learn together?' group. I regret that the opening circle takes place during an hour when you are unavailable. Would you like me to offer your brief introduction (above) to the group during the opening circle? There is thought to record the introductions and solely for the purpose of sharing within this group so that you and others unable to join the opening circle can get a sense of who is gathered as we begin. Whether that recording happens depends on permissions from all gathered. we will schedule subsequent video meets to accommodate as many schedules as possible. I'm also happy to chat with you by phone if you would like before we begin. Thank you, Megan

    • Megan, You sound very kind and accommodating and I am truly appreciative.  You are welcome to offer my brief introduction and I will gladly add more as we go along.  I am sure I can come up with some experiences and stories that could be used as prompts as soon as I get a better feel for how the group processes and proceeds.
I too have done a lot of study and have had some transformative experiences but being a Seeker, I am always open to more.  Thank you and yes I am agreeable to recordings and whatever structure you can manage.

Great, Cheryl, thank you for your understanding and comfort with the potential recordings. I look forward to diving in with you. In this short video on my portfolio site, I read two poems written by me and offer explanation for 'why i do what i do'. This will provide you a sense of the energy I generally bring to the work and that which will hold the container for this group. http://www.meganhollingsworth.com/me-connect/ Thank you, Megan
