Greetings everyone. My name is Mara Schaeffer and I have been interested in Depth Psychology and mythology for most of my life. I would like to deepen and focus my exploration and studies with this class. I’m a retired teacher, have my MS in Psychology, am a member of the Analytical Psychology Club of Los Angeles and the Assisi Institute’s Advanced Dream Patterning Program. I’m especially fascinated by Indian mythology and have watched most of the mythology serials with English subtitles on Indian TV (Dish and Internet) over the last eight years. I have visited India twice and participated in a number of spiritually oriented tours/yatras there since retirement as well as publishing a few articles. I especially enjoy the retelling of Indian mythological themes in classical and contemporary Hindi cinema and their parallels with similar Greek, Roman, Celtic and Nordic myths of other Indo-European cultures.
