Hi everyone: I'm seeking help to find panelists for the Climate Change forum in Portland created by Jungians and Climate Scientists. I am attending a forum on Climate Change in Portland June 1-3 put on by the Deep Democracy Institute and Dr. Arnold Mindell who will be a featured speaker along with his wife, Amy. The forum is initiated by a unique combination of climate scientists and Jungians among others.
I'm co-hosting and chairing a panel on Transformation--focusing on how we can seek to create change on the part of individuals as well as the collective using creative imagination and other Jungian and depth psychology techniques. Dr. Jeffrey Kiehl, who is both a climate scientist and a Jungian analyst in Boulder, CO--and also a member of the Alliance, is a co-creator of the forum and also invited me to co-host this particular panel
The forum is free to attend, but coming up quickly and still requires some focus and attention to pull it together. Jeff and I are just finding ourselves in the position of finalizing panelists for our Saturday afternoon (June 2) session.
I'm writing to see if you know anyone who might be interested in being on the panel. We're open--and thought it might be significant to have people from various backgrounds--including but not limited to psychology, social/systems thinking, science and art. The focus will be positive action and thinking, following a morning session circling more around emotions and obstacles.
The catch is that there is not only no compensation available, but the panelist would also have to pay their own way to get there. This is truly a labor of love in the sense that the entire forum is being offered free of charge to the public, but which also makes it impossible to pay those who participate. Therefore, at this rather late date, it might make sense to pull from the Portland community at large along with surrounding areas who will not experience too much hardship to travel to get there. At the same time, if anyone is just passionate about the issue, extremely interested in attending the conference in general, and can manage the expenses, it may be well worth their while to attend to learn and connect with likeminded others.
Given this, would you be willing to pass this on to anyone who occurs to you as a prospect and/or email me with their contact information? We'd like to nail down our panel people as soon as possible, of course. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated to further the work.
