Hi folks--- you probably received this in your email box from our Vice Board Chair, James Newell. Wanted to post it here as well to make sure you see it. As you can see, our board is busy!--so if you are willing and wanting to get involved in one of the committees or you have specific project(s) you want to work on, please be proactive and reach out to us, even if you already have.

From James Newell:

Dear Depth Community,

A few weeks ago you received a message from Bonnie Bright, Founder of the Alliance, about exciting things happening on the Administrative Board, including the formation of several board committees. All of us on the board have been hard at work ensuring that the Alliance continues to be your best go-to resource for all-things Depth Psychology. Specifically, we are focused on producing even more compelling events and programs, designing affordable education options, improving overall member satisfaction, and creating partnerships with other quality organizations to increase our value to you.

Following are the board committees charged with overseeing this important work. If you are interested in offering your expertise and time by working on a specific committee, please let us know:

  • Programs & Events Committee: Oversees the mix of services and offerings through the Alliance, including recommending to the board those initiatives that should be discontinued or new ones to be begun. Sets program and event priorities within the context of limited resources.
  • Membership Experience Committee: Ensures a consistently high-quality member experience. Welcomes new members and moves about the different groups to support the member experience. May survey members for ways to improve the member experience. Informs the board of issues that detract from the member experience and suggestions for change. Works closely with other committees to shape the member experience—represents the member’s perspective in how offerings are designed and delivered. Oversees the evolution of the website and other software/hardware decisions that affect member satisfaction.
  • Education Committee: Identifies and defines a unique educational niche for the Alliance and recommends program objectives and standards, suggested course topics, instructors, completion criteria, recruitment/compensation of faculty, marketing considerations, funding sources, and other details associated with such an undertaking.
  • Outreach Committee: Develops strategic partnerships beyond Alliance members and recommends potential partner organizations. Gets the word out about what the Alliance offers; solicits organizations to join and post/promote their events, etc. Identifies publications, event producers and others who will offer discounts/specials for Alliance members.
  • Transitional Executive Committee: Develops broad policies/procedures for the Alliance and oversees effective board operations, including coordination of committees. Sets monthly board meeting agenda. Conducts initial goal setting and priorities for approval of full board. Recruits new board members.
