No, not a therapist. My background is 30+ years of pastoral experience and also hospital chaplaincy.
Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
To be honest, I'm not sure what I expect. My sister-in-law is a doctoral candidate with an emphasis in Jungian psychology. I have another trusted friend who has journeyed in Jungian thought and other mysticism. We have enjoyed many conversations. I am simply a life-traveler, not wanting to convert or be converted, trying to keep an open mind.

Hi Charles. Happy new year, and we're happy to welcome you to the online depth psychology community. I'm so glad you've joined us and I think you'll feel right at home here as a "life-traveler."
As you may know, we currently have over 1800 members from all over the world and we're growing. I hope as you explore the community a bit you find a dynamic group of like-minded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. While there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from various walks of life including artists, writers, doctors, scientists, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.
On that note, there are many opportunities to engage as you browse the site. When you're ready to jump in, please feel free to post a topic for discussion in the forum, respond to someone else's post, or share a link to an article or web site you like.
Also you may want to consider joining the discussion in the online book club. In January we are featuring "The War of the Gods in Addiction" with David E. Schoen. The Book Club this month consists of four live teleseminars with the author and an online discussion forum via writing so you can participate at your own level and schedule--and you can join the discussion anytime, even if you don't have the book. Also upcoming in January is a special study group on Jung's infamous Red Book with Jungian analys... starting January 19.
