  • Hi Eric. Greetings, and glad you've found the online depth community. Being in the field of addiction treatment is a certainly a wonderful opportunity to study the unconscious in ways some of the rest of don't have access to. I'm really glad you're bringing a depth lens to your work.

I hope you'll jump in here and engage with your peers in the community right away--perhaps by sharing a link, article, or web site that has been meaningful to you in your work--or to comment on someone else's post in order to get into a discussion. These are just some ideas to get you started. I will also send you some additional tips on navigating the site in a separate message. Again, welcome to the community. Regards~Bonnie Bright, Founder

  • Welcome Eric,

Fascinating topic of interest. I read one author who stated the addiction to drug usage (prior to physical need) is a spiritual need that has become too literalized in the physical experience of the drug. I also remember an old Firesign (?) Theatre line from one of their comedy albums (yes, that old) that ran, "I used to be messed up on drugs, now I'm messed up on Jesus." I have had a long interest in religious addiction and abuse. Let's keep talking.
