I am looking for connections, to expand my perceptions of reality, self understanding, and also looking for a depth-psychology based therapist in Chicago.

Hi Hillary. Welcome to the Alliance. Hopefully, once you have a chance to explore the online community a bit, I think you'll find a dynamic group of likeminded people who are all fascinated by the field of depth psychology. Our members come from many walks of life--artists like yourself--plus writers, doctors, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.
On that note, I hope you're finding opportunities to engage as you browse the vast content and interact with others. You may want to consider joining the online book club if you haven’t already—There's a new author each month, and you can jump in at anytime and participate at whatever level you wish. Even if you don't have the book for this month, you can read all the comments that have gone on so far and get a feel for the story--or Feb. 1 will bring a wonderful new book from Jungian Analyst Erel Shalit as well as a special online study group on Astrology.

Glad you found and decided to join the Alliance. I would hope that through the Chicago Jungian Institute you might find an analyst. Are you planning to open a practice as an art therapist? I have worked with several art therapists and have been delighted with how they are able to draw out and help resolve complexes and traumas, esp. with children. I tip my hat to your work. I hope you will find the many blogs, forums, and groups of interest and that you will join in. I look forward to your posts.
