I'm one internship away, which I'll do this winter, to get a special education degree.

Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?

I'm a 32 year old Quebecer, ex-dropout and ex-many-things... I discover Jung, amongst others, in my mid-twenties, during what I call my "intellectual awakening". During this time, I slowly began to put myself back together, after years of drifting, and I'm now at the end of a five-years-back-to-school-plan which will lead me to a special Ed degree. I've already began to work in my field, did a year as a social street worker (dealing mainly with mental health issues and toxicomany) and my first internship was in "sexual intervention". After a couple of years of reading only stuff directly linked to my graduate degree, I've recently "re-started" my personal studies of Jung, in the new light of my brief professional experiences in social work and I find myself fascinated yet again. My first contact with analytical psychology helped me put myself back together and now I'm learning with the perspective of including these concepts in my interventions. I obviously can't and will never do psychoanalysis, but my "jungian lens" as already proved useful in my work and I want to sharpen it. I doubt I'll be an active participant in the community, I'm more of a lurker, but I'm looking for materials, be them interesting forum discussions, videos or books. That's basically why I'm applying.

Do you belong to any other online Psychology-related communities or orgs? If so, which?
