Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?

My call to the Depth Psychologies is ever-renewing. Currently, I find that the depth and archetypal psychologies contribute importantly to dialogues around the indeterminate qualities and characters of psyche and world. Indeterminacy is not only a stop on the way to definition, but rather a liberating and abiding aspect of psyche, increasingly engaged by thinkers, writers, and actors in the depth psychological fields. I am very grateful for the efforts of this community!

  • Hi Michelle. I'd like to add my welcome to you for the Alliance. I'm finishing coursework in June in the Depth Program at Pacifica and you've probably already noticed there are a lot of Pacifica students, grads, and faculty here in the community.

I hope you'll engage here right away in whatever arena feels right--by sharing a link, article, or web site that has been meaningful to you in your work--or perhaps by commenting on someone else's post in order to get into a discussion. These are just some ideas to get you started. I will also send you some additional tips on navigating the site in a separate message. Again, welcome to the community. Regards~Bonnie Bright, Founder

  • Welcome Michelle,

I wish your comments about the ongoing, liberating dynamic between indeterminacy and definition could be read by our members who are new to Jungian/archetypal thinking. Have you seen Abt's book on interpretation of art? Pretty good stuff (as if you need an excuse to buy another book!!!). Glad you have joined the Alliance and I look forward to your future posts.
