Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?

Jerome Bernstein's book, Living in the Borderland. I rescue animals and have seen unimaginable torture happen to animals in Southeast Asia, Africa and the US. The book was recommended to me by a Jungian Analyst who was seeing my husband. I thought I would loose my mind and Jerome's book helped me learn how to live with the knowledge and images of animals being tortured. That is the short of it. However I still panic when a truck loaded with cows, horses, pigs pass me on the interstate and I know they are headed for a slaughter house. My husband says that animal welfare activist were born 3,000 years before their time. I feel like I came from a different world.

Do you belong to any other online Psychology-related communities or orgs? If so, which?

Not at this time. I have a rescue and work in a semi correctional institution for women. I am a substance abuse counselor and have been for 35 years. I belong to many animal welfare organizations and have stopped membership with counseling organizations like NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals.
