Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?

When I was just seven years old I was first haunted by a phantom in a dream. I was lucky enough then to find a depth-oriented school counsellor, who invited and encouraged me to engage with the spirit and ask what it wanted in my room. Whether she did so knowingly or not, this amazing woman (a mentor until today) introduced my little psyche to lucid dreaming, and liberated me to the world of depth psychology. Since then I, like so many others in these over-rational times, have skirted the edges of the numinous in modern Western paradigm, socially acceptable ways. While truly attracted to the mysteries of Life, I found my way to an academic study of science, ecology and agriculture, an arena where I figured I could be acceptably in relation with the unknown, and not a 'flake'. This turned into permaculture and ecological restoration (and in-the-closet art and spirituality), and then finally after many rationality-defying experiences, honey-dipped in Gaia, to an MA at CIIS and 300-hours of training in massage therapy, where I could probe the mindbodyspirit with more liberty to ask and discover and develop a greater breadth of my integrated callings. Having finished the MA in May 2015, I've moved back up to Canada where my family is starting up a holistic farming, arts, and healing project on a tiny magical island. From this community I seek to continually engage, develop, and practice my inquiry and offering, learning ever more, and sharing what I discover. I hope to both discover mentors and inspirations, and perhaps offer the same to others. Broadly, I seek to share support on the never-ending unfolding of each of our depth paths.

Do you belong to any other online Psychology-related communities or orgs? If so, which?

I ran a permaculture-based non-profit for several years called Livingland. Soon enough I realized that environ'mental' problems, and their solutions, are just that, 'mental', so I embarked on a 2-year sojourn with East-West Psych at CIIS. Now graduated, depth psychology and related themes are being integrated into the work that Livingland does. So, my own organization, Livingland is a psychology-related project and community.
