Ashes and Snow HD

Ashes and Snow HD from kedarvideo on Vimeo.

This beautiful film was created by Canadian artist, photographer and filmmaker GREGORY COLBERT. It is part of a comprehensive exhibition that traveled throughout the world until 2009. Unfortunately no new exhibition dates are being given on their website. Hopefully it will start touring again. In the meantime I would like to share his film which was created over many years involving hundreds of hours of patience and understanding to offer the beauty of man with wild animals in their original habitat. All scenes of this film are real and nothing has been manipulated in any way. Congratulations Gregory for this unique art work!

  • You're welcome Bonnie and Holly, and thanks for sharing the way this project has moved you...There's a book and a DVD available on their website (http://www.ashesandsnow.org/) but I've yet to make the investment.
  • I saw this moving exhibition in LA about 5 years ago, right after having met with my wolf friend in the woods: Singing Rocks, Howling Wolves It was like walking through a vision or a dream, the whole exhibition felt as though it was breathing. It was heralded as a "Nomadic exhibition" and the whole gallery was constructed from the crates and containers that were used to transport the exhibition as well...hence all the places it was shown were on beaches near the ocean. This exhibit moved me on so many levels, it evoked a world soul and an interconnectedness with the earth and all it's sentient creatures in an intelligent & harmonious existence. Very appropriate that it should appear on this website, thanks for posting it John!
  • John: THANK YOU for uploading this to the Alliance! I saw it a couple of months ago and can honestly say it is one of the most stunning, compelling, and quieting films I have ever seen. Everyone who sees this post simply MUST set some precious time aside, turn off the phone, and partake. It is really gorgeous--numinous even. Again, many thanks!
