  Hi Melissa Jane. You may want to check with Pacifica. They do take people sometimes with BAs but with the Masters from Sonoma you have a much better start to the excellent program. Each case is different. I completed the Clinical Ph.D. in 2005 and was happy that I went that route. Actually at this time a good route to becoming a licensed depth therapist, if you don't care about becoming a licensed psychologist, is to get an MFT or LCSW license and then take the Clinical Depth Ph.D. for licensed therapists from Pacifica.

  Hi Melissa Jane, sorry that I haven't responded before now. I absolutely loved the program at SSU--it's just about the most important thing that I've ever done for myself. It changed the way I am as a human being. I was 30 years in corporate human resources, and now I am an executive coach (www.stepwellcoaching.com). The program is good quality, and it's cheap--under $500 a unit. The program is weekly, usually Thursday and Friday, with some Saturdays. Here's the rub: If you want to go on to a PhD at many places, it won't prepare you for that. For example, at Pacifica you have to pay for the masters and PhD, regardless whether you have already gotten a masters somewhere else. Pacifica is really cool and it's better for distance learners, but it's far more expensive than SSU. I know of individuals who got their masters and getting a PhD at Meridian University in Petaluma--small program and they love it. Good luck to you!

  I have been considering the SSU depth psych program. I'm curious how graduates are using their degrees. Does anyone have plans to move onto a PhD in clinical psych in order to practice? If so, what PhD program are you looking at? How else are others using their MA?
