My hurrahs for you as well Sara. I remember your past concerns and glad that they appear to be just that, past. I hope you will keep us informed as you go along and tell us what they are teaching you (so we all can correct it :) ) I'll be waiting for an email on April 1st!!! (April Fool's Day??) Okay, I'll wait until the 2nd. Congratulations.
I know I haven't been active on here very much in the past few months what with me enduring my last year of undergrad and working on my 2 majors, but I wanted to share a personal bit of good news. After much encouragement from my professors and friends as well as a lecture on the Hindu concept of jnana I made the decision to complete my application to the University of West Georgia's MA in Psychology program. I waited on pins and needles for about 2 weeks, but received an email from the Psychology department there informing me that I was invited to come interview on March 31st. Although I have been accepted to widely known schools for a graduate degree in another field I am definitely going to take the opportunity to interview as West Georgia's program in not considered "mainstream" and approaches things from a humanistic and transpersonal perspective. I'm hoping that when I visit the campus and get a feel for it that I won't worry myself to death over making a decision about graduate school.
1) Is there a way to have a sub-group within the Jung in the South group dedicated to listing events taking place in the South? Some of the callers stated that it can be frustrating scrolling down the events trying to find something in the region. I don't know if this is even possible...I'm sooo technologically challenged in this area! I'll check with Bonnie about this.
2) The options for our first meeting appear to follow one or both of two threads.
a) We all plan to go to the same event in the South and cut out a lunch &/or dinner to gather and have a meeting.
b) Using the videos already available on the Alliance site and elsewhere, to set up another phone conference after everyone agrees to watch the same video prior to the call and then we can discuss it.
It was also obvious that the Jungian groups in the South are not well known, outside of the Atlanta and Asheville groups. Many were mentioned that were new to all of us. For now, I'll put up a new discussion within this group where folks can list information about Jungian-styled groups around the South.
There was the feeling that trying to plan a full blown conference at this point is taking on too much. Maybe after a core group of people is established, they can meet and plan something on a grander scale. Until then, we will attempt one or both of the above.
Your thoughts???
Hillary,
I read that I can record the session and send out the contact info to listen later. I will do my best to hit the right buttons to make it happen. :)
Ed
Ed, if you could record and take notes I could use them as well. I have a class this evening that goes until 9:00 pm. Sorry to miss the beginning of what sounds like an exciting conference!
Marla,
I will be keeping notes and need to revisit the conference site to see if I can record the session and then give you the link. I don't foresee the time going past about 9:15pm but please call in when you can. Sorry we may miss your voice.
