Calling those who live east of the Mississippi and south of the Mason-Dixon. I love California, Chicago, New York and New England, but need to connect with others in the South who are interested in exploring Jungian/Archetypal theories and practice.

  • Hi all you Red Book lovers: Just a quick heads up. Over the past week, I have been working Tamara Long-- a friend and colleague of mine who has recently started a Red Book study group in the "real world" in Northern California--to start a Red Book group here in the Alliance community. She is going to launch it in the next couple of days. Please do whatever moves you, but she is a powerful teacher/facilitator and it could be a really rich group that involves the entire Alliance community. Be on the lookout for it in the next couple of days and if you feel inclined, jump in....
  • Hi Ed and All,

I'd be interested in a Red Book discussion group, so that makes 5.  I have a Moodle CMS site that I could possibly set up for use for discussion that could only be accessed by the group. We'd need to talk. I have experience and knowledge in online instructional facilitation and design that might be helpful. Linda

  • Sounds like we're on our way to a group. Lucia has sent me a possible way to connect but due to my technological infancy (infants learn, so I am absorbing) I am needing a bit more info. Stay tuned "same bat station, same bat channel." (showing my age)

  • Make that four - I have the Red Book and would love a discussion and study group.
  • I hear three! I have the Red Book and would love to have a way to delve into it.
  • I hear one, can I get two, Two.. Two.. (oops, I'm two.) Is there a third in the hall??? (Too many auctions in my life!!) :)
  • A thought: Would this group like to start a discussion about the Red Book? There are many scholars out there that have weighed in with various approaches but I'd rather just be "folks" and share whatever thoughts come to us. If there are several who have the book, or access to one, we could start by choosing a certain number of pages and go from there. Kinda like a book study. Lucia may have some suggestions along these lines due to her knowledge with Higher Education and technology.

Anybody else want to try this out?

    Ed

  • No problem Lisa, got the message. There are a number of good programs through Asheville as well and they are part of this group. Maybe someone in our group has attended one or more of their offerings and can make a suggestion.
  • Thanks, Ed.  I see now that I do have a conflict for that weekend and will not be able to make it, unfortunately, but I would like to attend an event in Atlanta sometime this year.
  • Adele (and others),

    Atlanta workshop

Above is the link to the workshop in May.

If anyone is planning to attend, please let me know.

Frankly, I'll be attending only if I get a chance to meet a few of you in the process. :)

Jung and the Arts

This will be the focus of the first Jung in the South Conference and except for a few folks I know who would like to present, this is as far as it has gotten. I would like to make this planning a group endeavor. Is anyone connected with a college or university or art institute (housing and board made easier) that might be interested in hosting the event? I imagine during the summer if an academic setting.  If you do plan to check with organizations in your area, please let me know so I don't…

Journey Conference 2012

This discussion invites those who attended the 2012 Journey Conference to reflect on their experiences and learnings. I hope it will add some information that will help others make wise decisions related to attending events where the Journey presenters will be appearing.

Suggestions on Readings for a Directed Study Proposal.

Since my graduate program doesn't offer any Jungian courses regularly, I'm getting ready to draft a proposal for an independent study course that focuses specifically on Jung.  There's a couple of faculty members that have an interest in Jung that may agree to be the overseer and mentor for me on this.  I figured if I came up with a proposed course of study that it would only help my chances of getting one to agree, but I'm having a very hard time narrowing down what the proposed readings for…
