We are the expression of many generations of both suffering and bright blessings. Relating consciously with our personal ancestors encourages healing and empowerment for our lineages, families, and lives in the present moment.

Much of the suffering addressed by psychological healers stems from unhealed family and ancestral patterns. In this training, participants will learn tangible skills for helping others relate well with their ancestors. No prior experience or formal credentials needed.

This introductory training is open to all, and participants can expect to learn tangible skills for supporting others in work with both their loving and troubled family ancestors. This training draws on my experience as a marriage and family therapist, my doctoral research on the use of shamanic healing methods in clinical work, and my experience guiding others in ancestor work over the past decade.

Daniel Foor, Ph.D., is a practitioner of earth-honoring spirituality in the San Francisco Bay Area.  His academic training includes a doctorate in psychology from Saybrook University, an M.A. in counseling from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (MFC #46692), and a B.S.S. in religious studies from Ohio University. His doctoral research focused on the intersection of psychotherapy and shamanic healing, and he has lived in the Czech Republic, Mexico, Ecuador, Egypt, and Morocco.

Daniel has studied world religion for 15 years with an emphasis on Mahayana Buddhism and diverse forms Indigenous wisdom and shamanism, and he is a priest in the Ifa/Orisa tradition of Yoruba-speaking West Africa and the Diaspora. He leads non-dogmatic, heart-centered trainings and rituals that engage the ancestors and the natural/elemental worlds with the intent of remembering our personal destiny and gifts here in service to the Earth.

Daniel’s ancestors are Northern and Western European immigrants to North America (Irish, English, German) and he loves his family deeply. By encouraging close work with family ancestors, he emphasizes that we are all from lineages that understood, or perhaps still understand, how to live well with the Earth and other worlds. Daniel is also the founder and executive director of the Earth Medicine Alliance (www.earthmedicine.org), an interfaith 501(c)3 non-profit based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
