M.L. von Franz described an archetypal experience as "an act of grace", one which she said could not be forced, but only prepared for. She dedicated her life to preparing for this act of grace as she translated the archetypal significance embedded within the fables and fairytales of cultures from around the globe. Von Franz believed fairytales were some of the purest conveyors of archetypal reality because they were unimpeded by a human ego, dealing in the fantasy figures of the unconscious.
We invite you to join us in this weekend exploration, as we hear from leading scholars in the fields of wisdom traditions, contemporary film and cinema, and archetypal patterning. Together, we will learn from the profound insights of M.L. von Franz and the unconscious wisdom contained within myths, legends and fairytales which can help prepare us for that "act of grace."
