Depth Psychology Alliance and Assisi Institute have teamed up to bring you a complimentary LIVE opening address by Jungian analyst, Dr. Michael Conforti at the upcoming conference, "What Shapes A Life: An Archetypal Developmental Approach,"—FREE for all members of the Depth Psychology Alliance and Assisi communities!

In this 2-hour talk, Dr. Conforti will introduce the work and vision of Erich Neumann, and discuss how an archetypal perspective on developmental issues contributes to our understanding of the various passages occurring throughout life and the particular mandates and challenges associated with each of these.

It was the genius of Neumann and Jung to see how the discovery that Ontology recapitulates Phylogeny relates to both the individual developmental journey and the development of consciousness.

Dr. Conforti will also discuss what Erich Neumann termed a "Symbol Cannon" when speaking of the specific images and symbols associated with these various thresholds of life and how an understanding of these enables clinicians to make accurate assessments about our client’s stage of life and their ability to navigate these various life transitions.

Tune in around 10:20 am U.S. Pacific time/1:20 pm Eastern time for a short introduction to the event by Bonnie Bright and Loralee Scott-Conforti before we join Michael's talk live from the conference around 10:30 am PDT/1:30 EDT.

Dr. Michael Conforti is a Jungian analyst and the Founder and Director of The Assisi Institute. He has been a faculty member at the C.G. Jung Institute - Boston, the C.G Jung Foundation of New York, and for many years served as a Senior Associate faculty member in the Doctoral and Master's Programs in Clinical Psychology at Antioch New England.

A pioneer in the field of matter-psyche studies, Dr. Conforti is actively investigating the workings of archetypal fields and the relationship between Jungian psychology and the New Sciences. He has presented his work to a wide range of national and international audiences, including the C.G. Jung Institute - Zurich and Jungian organizations in Venezuela, Denmark, Italy and Canada.

He is the author of Threshold Experiences: The Archetype of Beginnings (2007) and Field, Form and Fate: Patterns in Mind, Nature and Psyche (2002). Dr. Conforti maintains a private practice in Mystic, CT and consults with individuals and corporations around the world.

  • I cannot attend the session but would love to get a recording. Is it possible to do this w/o taking up a "seat" at the live event which someone else might be able to fill?

  • Hi Jane and everyone: Yes--as noted above, provided technology complies, a recording will be made available to registrants a day or two after the event.

  • Will Dr. Conforti's talk be recorded? It would be great if people could access it at another time.
