It was the love of psyche that compelled Jung and the early Jungians to the study of myth, fairy tale, religion and the sciences. The realization that it was not the conscious mind but the Self which was the progenitor of experience, of destiny and of genuine spiritual experiences.
M.L. von Franz spoke of the archetypes as "Natures Constants," which captures not only the universality of this work, but the tremendous influence these innate archetypal aspects of soul have on each individual life.
In all the studies undertaken by these pioneers, they were seeking to understand the voice of self and the ways of the antique soul. Realizing both the importance and the limitations of consciousness, they followed the ways of the holders of the wisdom traditions in looking wherever they could for these expressions of psyche and worked throughout their life to understand the symbols, and meanings of the soul.
For close to thirty years, the Assisi Institute has pioneered an interdisciplinary investigation of the confluence between psyche, soul and matter. It was Mario Jacobi, who once said that the work of the Assisi Institute most closely captures the original vision and work of the early Eranos Conferences, where visionaries and pioneers from the arts, psychology, religion and the sciences gathered to speak of the workings and expression of the psyche in these different areas.
It is the Assisi Institutes Certification program in Archetypal Pattern Analysis that welcomes individuals from diverse professional backgrounds and teaches them to recognize, understand, translate and bring greater meaning of the ways of the Self to their individual lives and respective careers.
In this open house, we will discuss the work and direction of the Archetypal Pattern Analyst Training Program. We will also discuss the vistas and opportunities available for individuals having this expertise which captures a deep love for psyche and soul, coupled with an understanding of the commitment this work entails.
