Join two internationally recognized leaders in archetypal patterning and archetypal cosmology share highlights of what they will present at Eranos in Switzerland this July 22nd -27th, 2018

It was the brilliance of Jung to discover that within the psyche there exist powerful autonomous processes that not only affect the individual, but the collective as well. He discovered that these forces within the psyche, the archetypes, generate and shape our perspectives, emotions, and behavior, influencing and structuring events within both the internal and external world. For these reasons, Jung repeatedly cautioned about their power to create archetypal possessions within the individual and the collective psyche. Yet the archetypes also hold the treasure of life's deep meanings and purposes.

Archetypal influences require archetypal responses. It is hubris to believe that we can simply and willfully change these archetypal processes within the psyche and the world by conscious intent and the agency of the ego. Archetypal energies are not so much shifted by our calculating intentions as they are by a deeply moral, psychological, and spiritual engagement with these dynamics.

Archetypal transformation is a matter of both grace and deeply difficult work. Thus our need to dissolve our illusions about simply trying to change these archetypal forces and instead, to see our task as requiring a truly profound engagement with what Jung called the Objective Psyche and the Self.

Can we just choose the direction of our personal identity even while the culture is in the throes of birthing a new consciousness? Is there something greater at work that mandates a deeper engagement with the unconscious architects of psyche and soul? If so, how do we begin to understand and work effectively at this deeper level? What is it that makes us want to believe we can so easily transform an archetypal complex into what we want it to be?

Join Michael Conforti and Richard Tarnas as they introduce the work they will be presenting at Eranos this coming July. Seats for this free webinar are limited. Early registration is strongly recommended.

Dr. Michael Conforti is a Jungian analyst and the Founder and Director of The Assisi Institute. A pioneer in the field of matter-psyche studies, Dr. Conforti's scholarship on  the workings of archetypal fields and the relationship between Jungian psychology and the New Sciences is internationally recognized. He is the author of Threshold Experiences: The Archetype of Beginnings (2007) and Field, Form and Fate: Patterns in Mind, Nature and Psyche (2002).
