Gnosticism was an area of study that captivated CG Jung for the later part of his life. The history of the Nag Hammadi codex, hidden early Christian scriptures rediscovered in Egypt in 1945, is intimately intertwined with the history of Depth Psychology. In fact, Jung believed that the so-called Gnostics were the first real depth psychologists who embraced both the Shadow and the principle of the Divine Feminine. In this five part series, cultural historian and mythologist Kayleen will lecture on the history of early Christianity and the non dualistic, depth orientation of several key scriptures: The Gospel of Thomas, The Gospel of Philip, Thunder Perfect Mind and The Round Dance of Jesus. The first lecture, which gives a background of the context of these fascinating and challenging works, is FREE
and open to all.
