Lecture and Q & A.

Why should we care about mythology? According to depth psychologist Craig Chalquist: because it doesn’t stay in the myth books. As Hermann Hesse, Joseph Campbell, Thomas Mann, Christine Downing, and many others have shown, myths are all around us, their images and motifs returning to inhabit current events, influence our language (the “witching hour”), infiltrate our plans, and even populate our dreams. Join us for an hour of discussion on why myths do this and how we can work creatively with them instead of letting them work us over.

Craig Chalquist, PhD., is the program chair of the East-West Psychology department at the California Institute of Integral Studies and President of the Depth Psychology Alliance.

Cost: $10 online, $15 at the door. Location: CIIS lobby.
