"The main interest of my work is not concerned with the treatment of neuroses but rather with the approach to the numinous. But the fact is that the approach to the numinous is the real therapy and inasmuch as you attain to the numinous experiences you are released from the curse of pathology.” (Jung 1973, 1:377)

A Jungian approach to treatment offers a profound understanding that life is an unfolding of spirit and archetypes in our daily life. Be it the challenges of a mother or father complex which keeps us from a full involvement with life, or the work with a complex or dream, each represents psyches urging us to deepen our relationship to the transcendent. Each is an expression of soul, an experience of psyche, and with both, we hope for the presence of grace.

In this six week clinical supervisory seminar, we will look at the presence and meaning of dreams in treatment. We will examine how dreams provide an in-depth and accurate commentary of not only the life we are living, but he life waiting for us in-potentia. A central theme throughout this seminar will be the work of translating personal and archetypal dreams into a language our clients can not only understand, but will be able to integrate into their life.

Dr. Michael Conforti is a Jungian analyst and the founder and Director of The Assisi Institute. He has been a faculty member at the C.G. Jung Institute - Boston, the C.G Jung Foundation of New York, and for many years served as a Senior Associate faculty member in the Doctoral and Master's Programs in Clinical Psychology at Antioch New England.

A pioneer in the field of matter-psyche studies, Dr. Conforti is actively investigating the workings of archetypal fields and the relationship between Jungian psychology and the New Sciences. He has presented his work to a wide range of national and international audiences, including the C.G. Jung Institute - Zurich and Jungian organizations in Venezuela, Denmark, Italy and Canada. He is the author of Threshold Experiences: The Archetype of Beginnings (2007) and Field, Form and Fate: Patterns in Mind, Nature andPsyche.
