This 5 day residential workshop at Bad Orb, Germany – a spa situated in parkland and forest – is an offering of the Academy of Imaginal Studies, a transformational learning environment based on Ficino’s Renaissance Florentine Academy.
The Academy was imagined as a gathering of friends deeply committed to a contemplation of the mysteries, and based on the idea of a world soul that linked the divine, angelic orders, planets, and the elements to animals, plants, and minerals.
The human soul as a spark of the divine, through reflective thought, meditation, and especially love could reach out and embrace all things in the cosmos, forming the alchemical link between world soul and human soul, above and below.
At a time of unprecedented change on our planet, each of us is called to a new vision of humankind’s place in nature and the cosmos. Our workshop, envisioned as inner journeys in the outer world seeks to support the discovery and embodiment of this new vision by attending to the promptings of soul through practices that engage the creative imagination. hermal water soaking and therapies have, since ancient times, always been sanctuaries of deep transformation and healing, of meditative reflection and renewal. 
These spas are often situated at power places where the veils are thin and reception to guidance from the world soul more easily accessible.
We feel that water and music to be found especially in the Liquid Sound Temple at Bad Orb assist us in deepening our path toward who we truly are, as citizens of both earth and cosmos, at this time of course correction on our earth. In addition, there is a wealth of sauna/spa treatment options available at this remarkable healing sanctuary, as well as nourishing food and wine.

Veronica Goodchild, PhD, is core faculty at Pacifica Graduate Institute since 1999.
Educated in London in her native England and New York, she has an MSW in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University (1980), and a PhD in Clinical Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute (1998).
Veronica has practiced as a Jungian psychotherapist for over 30 years, and was elected an Affiliate Member of the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts.
Robert Romanyshyn, PhD, is a teacher, writer, and psychotherapist trained in phenomenology and Jungian psychology. An Affiliate Member of the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts, he is a senior core faculty member in the Depth Psychotherapy Program at Pacifica Graduate Institute.
