Tom Singer will discuss the notion of the cultural complex with attention to the origins of the idea, the basic characteristics of the idea, and some examples that he has studied. Perhaps most importantly, he will discuss why framing cultural, political, and social conflicts in terms of the cultural complex theory makes sense and has the potential to further our understanding. The presentation will be interactive with those participating

Tom Singer practices as a psychiatrist and Jungian psychoanalyst. His interests include cultural shifts and conflicts, archetypal imagery, baseball, walking. He is currently President of the Board of National ARAS, the Archives for Research into Archetypal Psychology. He also serves as the Editor of the Contemporary Culture Series for Spring Publications and has published several books with Spring, Routledge and other publishers. He has been engaged in the study of "cultural complexes" for the past ten years.

    Hi everyone,

Here is the link to the audio recording of the event!

Unfortunately, Dr. Singer was unable to send along the pictures he spoke about during the webinar, but even without the images I hope the presentation can provide a rich learning experience.

    All the best,

  • Johanne, hi:

I enjoyed Dr. Singer's webinar today. During the talk, he offered to send me an image he had (illustrating personal and cultural complexes) but I have been unable to find his e-mail address. Another attendee (Jesse Masterson) was also interested in contacting him. Do you know how we could get in touch with him?

    All the best,
